RAYMOND L. ATKINS,

Click on the book and go to Raymond's Web pages, buy his books, I have read "The Front Porch Prophet" it is a great story of Appalachia, particularly in the North East corner of Georgia. Raymond's knack for this writing is unique.. he had to have been there, maybe he's still there. I am heading for the bookstore today to buy "Sorrow Wood" his new novel.. join me and read more of 'Atkins'

Raymond is the recipient of the Independent Publisher Book Award for 2009 for           "The Front Porch Prophet"

SORROW WOOD, Somehow this book starts in Northern Alabama during the depression and moves with a one legged Rosie the Riveter in the shipyards of Washington state, where she keeps a lonely sailor from getting into a barroom fight, falls in love and marries and ends up as a probate judge whose husband is the local sheriff back in Alabama. Welcome to WWII, sex starved witches and warlocks in an abandoned tourist attraction cave, old southern money, infidelity, murder, arson, all wound into a great southern drama.

Pat Conroy, South of Broad  The pure audacity of Charlestonian society interwoven with the folks from the wrong side of the tracks. Classic Charleston, I can't tell you much more with revealing the heart...

Conroy brings in all of the truth and trash of the Charleston all of us love to know and love to hate. Charlestonians always referred to Savannah as a "Beautiful Lady with a dirty face", now the truth comes out about " The Southern Lady with the dirty soul", we can continue this battle until the Confederate Flag flies over Fort Sumter again. Read South of Broad, it is Charleston.
